IN-LINE laser-beam pointing system for argon and solid-state lasers provides piezo-electric mirror positioners to adjust the beam at two points, thus fixing the beam along a line. The device corrects for rapid thermal effects in pulsed lasers and long-term beam wander, eliminating more than 90% of beam-pointing error, and can be used to pum¥a mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser with a Nd:YAG laser.
