Image processor
The Falcon XL image-processing board uses field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) for both the input and processing modules to provide real-time image processing. The FPGAs provide better parallelism for image-processing algorithms than digital signal processors, allowing for very high-speed processing. Because the FPGAs are programmable, the functions performed by the board can be changed by downloading code to the board. The company offers custom image-processing code development. The board has 2-Mbyte VRAM for video and 2-Mbyte VRAM for nondestructive graphics overlay as well as u¥to 32 Mbyte of DRAM memory.
