A family of wavelength lockers is available for feedback control of dense WDM lasers on the 100-GH¥ITU grid. A single device can be used to lock all 40 ITU channels without requiring electrical power or thermoelectric cooling. A family of wavelength lockers is available for feedback control of dense WDM lasers on the 100-GH¥ITU grid. A single device can be used to lock all 40 ITU channels without requiring electrical power or thermoelectric cooling. One version is a passive two-port component that can be integrated into customer-designed laser-wavelength monitoring systems. The other version is a hybrid cassette that contains a ta¥and two detectors that allow simultaneous monitoring of laser power and center wavelength. Component losses are 3 dB with customer-specified contrast ripple between 10 and 15 dB. Total wavelength accuracy is within 5 GHz.
