Detector/amplifier

May 1, 1996
A HgCdTe p-n junction photodiode integrated with a transimpedance amplifier offers a quantum efficiency that is nearly constant between 1 and 2.7 µm, thus guaranteeing a continuous operating spectrum. The detector is available with active area sizes as large as 1 mm in diameter. The detectors are operable at room temperature, with thermoelectric cooling, or at cryogenic temperatures.
