A video camera, including all the electronics (but not the lens), is available on a single chip. The camera is built on a CMOS sensor. The monochrome device uses a 1/3-in. format with a 300 ¥ 240-pixel array, offering TV resolution of 225 lines. The camera requires a power supply of 6-18 Vdc at less than 100 mW. Using a 9-V alkaline battery, the camera can operate for more than 24 h.
