Detectors

May 1, 1998
OReach throughO avalanche silicon photodiodes have built-in gain and offer better sensitivity than PIN photodiode/amplifier combinations. The photodiodes show good gain and temperature stability combined with low noise and a low dark current. The detectors are available with active areas of 0.2, 0.3, and 3.0 mm2 mounted in TO-18 and TO-5 packages.
