Cryogenic cooler

Dec. 1, 1998
Miniature Stirling cycle cryogenic coolers are used to cool IR detectors. The coolers feature a long lifetime of 4000 h mean time to failure, vibration output of less than 0.1 lb, acoustic noise of less than 5 dB from 500 to 4 kHz, weight of less than 1 lb, and a clearance seal technology that eliminates the need for lubrication. The coolers run on 22 W maximum at 10.5 Vac.
