APD receiver module detects in the femtowatt range

July 14, 2023
RoHS-compliant 1064 nm silicon avalanche photodiode (APD) preamplifier modules offer a minimum of 1000 kV/W responsivity.

RoHS-compliant 1064 nm silicon avalanche photodiode (APD) preamplifier modules offer a minimum of 1000 kV/W responsivity. They feature a high-density microcircuit, advanced optoelectronics, and nanosecond recovery from laser bursts without damage to detect low optical signal powers in the femtowatt range. Available with or without a built-in thermoelectric cooling (TEC), applications include laser rangefinders and airborne and atmospheric LiDAR.
