    Intended for use with optical powers less than 1 pW, the C30902SH silicon avalanche photodiodes (APDs) provide quantum efficiency of 84% typical at 800 nm, dark noise of 0.1 pA/√Hz, internal avalanche gains >250, time response of 0.4 ns typical, and operation from -40° to 85°C. The APDs are used in low-light applications, including single-photon counting and quantum communication.
