OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY/CARDIOLOGY: Alliance will promote OCT for cardiovascular applications

Building upon an agreement that began in 2008, Abbott Laboratories (Abbott Park, IL) and St. Jude Medical (St. Paul, MN) have formed a multi-year joint initiative that provides mutual U.S. customers access to a portfolio of technologies for cardiology, including St. Jude's optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging products. Under the terms of the alliance, the two companies will jointly promote each other's product offerings when developing contract solutions with hospital customers in the U.S. A separate agreement grants Abbott the right to distribute St. Jude's Ilumien PCI optimization system, which integrates FFR and OCT, in the U.S.
