Laser Quantum (Cheshire, UK) will launch the Opus 3 solid-state laser at Photonics West 2008. The Opus 3 employs unique technologies to achieve a highly stable 3-W continuous-wave output at 532 nm with a near-diffraction-limited beam (M2<1.1). The Opus 3 is also extremely quiet, with a noise specification of <0.4% and long-term stability <0.4% rms. The Opus 3 is ideal for applications such as Ti:Sapphire pumping, ophthalmology, optical tweezers, and fluorescence microscopy.
