FEI Munich awarded its 2015 FEI Technology Award to Benjamin Judkewitz for his pioneering optical microscopy work in neuroscience.

At the German Neuroscience Society's Annual Meeting, held March 18-21, 2015, FEI Munich, a subsidiary of FEI Company (NASDAQ:FEIC; Munich, Germany) awarded its 2015 FEI Technology Award to Benjamin Judkewitz for his pioneering optical microscopy work in neuroscience.

Judkewitz is professor at the Bioimaging and Neurophotonics Lab, which is part of the NeuroCure Cluster of the German Excellence Initiative, located at the campus of the University of Berlin. With his team, Judkewitz has developed new optical microscopy techniques that overcome optical scattering to enable imaging and optical stimulation at unprecedented depths in biological tissue. Many labs throughout the world now use this method, which has been published in the journals Nature Methods and Nature Protocols.
