Summary

How does one choose or obtain individual filter performance for superior spectral compatibility with other filters in a set or optical system?

The speaker will address common challenges and pitfalls, describe a process to deliver optimal performance, and provide insight into reducing associated costs.

He will illustrate these points using Semrock filters and tools, such as:

Precise Edge Placement: High precision filter specs over batches

KolaDeep metrology: Deep OD & steep spectral edges

SearchLight web tool: Predict filter & system performance

Speakers

Michael Delay, Ph.D.

Senior Application Scientist

IDEX Health & Science | Semrock

The presenter has a background in experimental particle physics with a Ph.D. from the University of Washington. His subsequent work involved novel optical methods in biophysics research on cells and tissues at UCLA and the University of Calgary. He transitioned to Axon Instruments, where he was involved in developing new optics-based tools for cell biology research, and is at present with IDEX Health & Science | Semrock. He continues to collaborate with researchers on topics in biology and is fascinated by the history of languages.
