Princeton Optronics to showcase 808 nm VCSEL arrays at SPIE Photonics West 2016

A chip-on-submount 808 nm VCSEL array delivers >800 W of optical output power in QCW mode from a single 4.5 × 4.5 mm chip.
Jan. 24, 2016

A chip-on-submount 808 nm vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) array delivers >800 W of optical output power in quasi-continuous-wave (QCW) mode from a single 4.5 × 4.5 mm chip. The array can be focused into a 1.3 mm spot into a Nd:YAG crystal for end or side pumping. The arrays exhibit >50% peak efficiencies at room temperature and offer >40% peak efficiencies at 60°C. Temperature dependence is 0.07nm/°C.
