Summary

With the proliferation of satellites for government and commercial applications, the need for highly reliable motor controls operating in extreme environments is more critical than ever. Motor controls are crucial to success in military and aerospace missions for various applications ranging from valve control, spacecraft attitude control, robotics, camera, lens control, antenna tracking and orientation, solar panel deployment and tracking, propulsion, tracking, orientation, and fluid control.

Brushed, stepper and brushless DC motors offer different advantages and disadvantages based on the specific challenges of each mission. In this webinar, we will cover: the types of motors used for various space applications and when to use open loop verse closed loop for motor control. The pros and cons of each option will be discussed while the viewer will learn of the various services and solutions available.
