Diode laser seeds regenerative amplifier

A diode-laser system capable of producing 200-fs pulses with energies as high as 40 pJ has been successfully used to seed a regenerative amplifier system. Output from the Cr:LiSAF regenerative amplifier consists of pulses approximately 850 fs in duration with energies on the order of 0.75 mJ.
