The SOPHIA ultra-low-noise cameras for low-light-level scientific applications use the company’s ArcTec thermoelectric cooling technology to bring the back-illuminated CCD to <95°C. It is based on a 2000 × 2000 sensor format and a 30.7 × 30.7 mm photosensitive array with 15 × 15 μm pixels, with >95% peak quantum efficiency.
