Jenoptik joint venture in Israel receives first volume order

Jena, Germany--Jenoptik´s Optical Systems division and Dagesh F.K., Ltd. announced that their joint venture Jenoptik OptiSys Ltd. won a first volume order from an ophthalmologic medical-instrumentation company.

Jena, Germany--Jenoptik´s Optical Systems division and Dagesh F.K., Ltd. announced that their joint venture Jenoptik OptiSys Ltd. won a first volume order from an ophthalmologic medical-instrumentation company after successfully completing shipment of a qualifying prototype series. The order was for assembly and test of medical imaging systems for preventive diagnostics; the assembly and test work will be performed in the facility of Jenoptik OptiSys in northern Israel.

"This volume order was received earlier than expected after the formation of the joint venture in 2009 and was a consistent step along our internationalization strategy. It is therefore a major milestone proving the concept to provide module and system level solutions to high-tech customers in Israel with the benefit of being close to customers as a local partner," said Dirk Rothweiler, executive vice president of Jenoptik´s Optical Systems division.

Jenoptik's Optical Systems division produces precision optics and systems. In addition to opto-mechanical and opto-electronic systems, modules, and assemblies, the Optical Systems division develops and produces optical, micro-optical, and coated optical components made of optical glasses, IR materials, and polymers. For example, it develops and makes optics and micro-optics for beam shaping used in the semiconductor industry and laser material processing; systems and components for life sciences and for lighting and energy applications; and modules and systems for digital-image capture and processing and for digital microscopy.

Dagesh F.K. Ltd. supplies mechanical precision components and systems. Established in 1994, it is privately owned by Kobi Franken, an expert in metal machining. Among Dagesh customers are semiconductor-equipment manufacturers, most of the Israeli Air Industry subcompanies, and medical equipment companies.
