Near infrared (NIR, 0.9µm to 1.7µm) imaging and spectroscopy have become valuable tools in many biological and physical sciences applications. However, until recently, the design of such tools is limited by the availability high sensitive detectors in this wavelength range. The webinar explains the basics of InGaAs focal plane array based NIR detection and detector performance criteria needed to achieve high signal-to-noise ratio. Actual experimental results from a variety of NIR imaging and spectroscopy applications are also presented as usage examples for the latest generation ultra-low light detectors.
