Measurement and analysis of beam characteristics is essential for today’s laser based applications. In general, beam characterization can include measurement of the laser energy/power, spectral and temporal properties, but most often involves measurement of the beam Energy Density Distribution, commonly known as the Beam Profile. Beam Profile analysis enables understanding of the beam spatial characteristics such as size, shape, position, mode structure and propagation properties.
In this webcast researchers and engineers will learn the fundamental techniques for successful measurement and analysis of the laser beam profile characteristics and receive recommendations about application-specific beam characterization, measurement standards and definitions.

Ophir Photonics, a Newport Corporation brand, provides a complete line of precision laser measurement instrumentation, featuring:
• Laser Sensors - Ophir thermal, pyroelectric, and photodiode sensors; NIST-traceable calibrated, linear, and repeatable
• Power and Energy Meters - Ophir meters measure nW to KW and pJ to hundreds of joules
• Beam Profilers – Spiricon cameras and precision beam analysis systems from UV-THz (far IR) and nW-KW; Photon scanning slit profilers capable of measuring beam size and position to sub-micron resolution
• Goniometric Radiometers - Photon far-field profilers that characterize the angular radiation intensity of light sources without moving source or detector
