Metrology is a vital component of the asphere fabrication process, and it must not be overlooked when determining fabricator capability.  The ability to characterize aspheric form created helps determine potential lens performance and enables subsequent deterministic correction.  Asphere metrology has distinct challenges, but there are more options today than ever before.  Optimax will be presenting a webinar to explain specifying and tolerancing aspheric forms, today’s options for measuring aspheric form error, and how aspheric form determines manufacturing methods as well as influences metrology selection.
