Newport

At Newport, our mission is to be the premiere global resource for innovative photonic solutions that Make, Manage and Measure LightSM. Our Broad product portfolio includes an extensive selection of lasers, high-quality light sources, optomechanics, optics, filters, gratings, crystals, optical tables, motion systems. Because we are the industry's first and only integrated supplier of laser and photonic components, however, Newport does more than just deliver components. We also leverage our unique ability to integrate multiple core technologies, a full range of engineering design services, metrology certification, manufacturing control programs, and world-class service and support, and offer a wide variety of subsystems, subassembly, and turnkey systems to our customers.

Established in 1969 as Newport Research Corporation, Newport first gained recognition in the advanced technology manufacturing and development field for our sophisticated optical tables designed to isolate laser experiments from vibration. As holography, interferometry and other laser technologies progressed, so did we - expanding our product offerings to meet the evolving needs of scientists and engineers in the field.

In 2004, Newport moved closer to realizing its full potential as a single source provider through the acquisition of Spectra-Physics, and other well-known brands such as Oriel Instruments, Richardson Grating Laboratory, Corion Filters and Hilger Crystals, from Thermo Electron Corporation. By adding more than 5,000 more products to our portfolio, we are better positioned to provide the advanced technology community with not only outstanding research and development, but also invaluable experience and expertise.

Today, our vast array of 15,000 products and advanced technologies are backed by world-class service and support, made available through our global network that includes 24 worldwide sales offices, nine international subsidiaries, a host of regional offices and manufacturing facilities across Europe, the United States and Asia.

Our Markets

To meet the needs of incredibly diverse markets, Newport works closely with customers to understand their needs and challenges. It's part of our commitment to excellence. We deliver the most comprehensive technical and business solutions currently available.
