DILAS opens laser diode manufacturing facility in China
March 14, 2008, Mainz, Germany--DILAS, the diode laser company, demonstrates its strong commitment to the Chinese economy by opening its first manufacturing facility in China. With a sales office currently located in Shanghai managed by Lin Yang, director, sales & marketing, the new state-of-the-art facility will be strategically located in Nanjing, China and will offer a full complement of customer support, product development, and technical services.

Northrop Grumman sells its Electro-Optical Systems business to L-3
March 14, 2008, Los Angeles, CA and New York, NY--Northrop Grumman Corporation signed a definitive agreement to sell its Electro-Optical Systems business for $175 million in cash to L-3 Communications. Completion of the transaction is expected in the second quarter of 2008.

Edmund Optics forges cooperative agreement for molded aspheres
March 11, 2008, Barrington, NJ--Edmund Optics, a manufacturer of precision optical components, forged a cooperative agreement with Clemson University and Benet Laboratories at the Watervliet Arsenal in Albany, NY. Aculight and Koheras sign joint marketing agreement

Zecotek and Fujikura sign laser manufacturing/commercialization agreement
March 4, 2008, Vancouver, BC, Canada--Zecotek Photonics announced that Zecotek Laser Systems Singapore, a wholly wned subsidiary, signed an agreement with Fujikura of Japan to develop, manufacture, and commercialize Zecotek and Fujikura laser products, associated components and systems, including Zecotek's crystal and fiber-based lasers and Fujikura's infrared fiber lasers.
