• Little Optics unveils waveguide delay lines
  Annapolis Junction, MD, April 21, 2004--Little Optics, Inc., which has invented and patented a glass high-index optical waveguide material system, Hydex, for planar lightwave circuit (PLC) fabrication, has made available 8-bit programmable delay lines based on the technology.
• Imaging Diagnostic Systems CEO retires
  Fort Lauderdale, Florida, April 20, 2004--Linda Grable, CEO, chairman of the board, and co-founder of Imaging Diagnostic Systems, has retired. Grable has been CEO since August 2001.
• Cree reports record third-quarter revenue and earnings
  Durham, NC, April 16, 2004--Cree, Inc., which produces high-brightness blue and UV light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and semiconductor lasers, is benefiting from the steadily growing market for LED illumination and flat-panel displays.
• UK Photonics Cluster event to focus on market opportunities

• YDI Wireless buys Terabeam
  Falls Church, VA and Redmond, WA, April 15, 2004---YDI Wireless (Falls Church, VA) is adding free space optics to its technology stable with the purchase of Terabeam (Redmond, WA), which will become a wholly owned subsidiary of YDI and remain focused on high capacity wireless systems for telecommunications carriers.
• 'Doing Business in USA' seminar part of Photonics Europe

• BTG to seek licenses for Corning optics patents
  West Conshohocken, PA, April 14, 2004---BTG a global technology commercialization company, and Corning Incorporated (Corning, NY) a diversified technology company, announced today that they have signed a representation agreement whereby BTG will seek licensees on behalf of Corning for a portfolio of Corning patents related to a widely-used glass molding process.
• GSI Lumonics to buy MicroE Systems
  Billerica, Massachusetts, April 13, 2004--GSI Lumonics signed a definitive agreement to will acquire all shares of MicroE Systems Corp for an all-cash price of US$55.0 million. The transaction was approved by the Board of Directors of both companies and will be completed subject to customary closing conditions.
• Axsys buys Telic Optics for $14 million
  Rocky Hill, Connecticut, April 12, 2004--Axsys Technologies, a provider of opto-mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace, defense, and commercial markets, acquired all of the stock of Telic Optics (North Billerica, MA).
• Quantum Dot Corporation appoints George Dunbar CEO
  Hayward, California, April 12, 2004--Quantum Dot Corporation appointed George Dunbar as CEO and board director.
