• Tunable Optical Filter for Near IR
  Kenley, UK, April 10, 2003. Optical Surfaces Ltd. has announced that it is a key component supplier to Scientific Solutions Inc. for their NIR High Resolution Liquid Crystal Fabry-Perot Etalon (HR-LCFP), a tunable optical filter optimized for use in the near infrared.
• Photonics Industries Introduces Compact Diode Pumped Laser
  Bohemia, NY, February 14, 2003. Photonics Industries has introduced the DC Series of air-cooled, diode pumped, harmonic solid-state Q-switched lasers that offer a compact, "hands-free" system with the long-term reliability that the manufacturing industry demands.
• Precision Alignment of Single & Multimode Fibers
  Cambridge, UK, February 13, 2003. Moritex Europe has announced the availability of a range of high-performance v-groove components and fully manufactured fiber arrays. Produced using a highly accurate grinding process Moritex Europe has been able to obtain deep grooves relative to those made by the traditional chemical etching methods used in the manufacture of silicon v-groove devices.
• StockerYale Introduces Low-Loss Cladding Mode Suppression Fiber
  Salem, NH, February 5, 2003. StockerYale, Inc., has announced a Low-Loss Cladding Mode Suppression (CMS) fiber, which is being marketed under the nomenclature CMS-1550-R3. StockerYale's low-loss cladding mode suppression fiber is ideal for the fabrication of high-quality fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs).
• Foresight Imaging Announces Frame Grabber and Video Streamer
  Lowell, MA, February 4, 2003. Foresight Imaging has announced the AccuStream 170 frame grabber and video streamer, the first member of the new AccuStream Series of high accuracy, high performance imaging boards. The AccuStream 170 is designed for the 64 bit, 66 MHz PCI bus and provides up to 170 MHz and 1600 x 1200 video input from RGB, YPbPr, DVI, and monochrome video sources.
• Newport Delivers Laser Soldering System
  Irvine, CA, January 30, 2003. Newport has installed a Laser Soldering System at the Oregon facility of Flextronics Photonics. Newport is the exclusive provider for all fiber optic alignment and attachment systems for Flextronics Photonics on a global basis.

• United Epitaxy Contracts for Another MOCVD Reactor
  Aachen, Germany/Hsinchu, Taiwan, January 29, 2003. - United Epitaxy Company (UEC), a manufacturer of Yellow, Red, Blue, Green and White UHB-LEDs, has ordered another AIXTRON MOCVD Planetary Reactor to further ramp up production of III-Nitride ultra-high-brightness LEDs. The characteristics of the AIX 2600G3 HT, with its high capacity, high utilization efficiency and high uniformities, make this system a cost efficient tool for III-Nitride manufacturing.
• Motion Controller Offers New Driver and More Power
  Irvine, CA, January 27, 2003. Newport Corporation announced two new and powerful features that boost the capabilities and flexibilities of its ESP300 Motion Controller. The first new feature is a new driver capable of providing up to 3 amps of motor driver current, and that can also handle tachometer feedback. The second new feature is a 400-Watt power supply option.
