Newport Facility Achieves ISO 9001 Registration
Irvine, CA. March 11, 2003. Newport's Chandler, AZ facility has achieved ISO 9001 registration. The facility, which is part of Newport's Advanced Packaging and Automation Systems Division (APAS) completed its initial assessment of conformance to ISO 9001:1994, and the British Standards Institution (BSI) consequently recommended registration of the facility's quality system.

Lightbit Announces Pure-Optical Processor Chip

CODEON Quantum Photonics Merge to Form Covega

The new company, Covega Corporation, raised $17 million as part of its Series A round of financing, participants in which included New Enterprise Associates, OCG Ventures, Boulder Ventures, Core Capital Partners, EDB Ventures, Intersouth Partners, Kinetic Ventures and Siemens Venture Capital
