Vishay releases new infrared receiver modules in compact package
November 29, 2006, Malvern, PA--Vishay Intertechnology today announced the release of eight new series of infrared receiver modules in a new Minicast package type, featuring high immunity against EMI and a high-precision band filter.
The new devices are designed as drop-in replacements for standard small-size modules in remote control applications for consumer electronics, computer, air conditioning, game console, and industrial systems.
Optimized for efficient manufacturing without sacrificing quality and robustness, the new package type provides improved filtering of noise signals from sources such as fluorescent lighting for optimal noise immunity. Vishays patented internal metal shield technique maintains high immunity against EMI.
Each Minicast device includes a photo detector and preamplifier circuit, mounted within a 3-pin epoxy-encapsulated module with an integrated semi-cylindrical lens. The new devices are available in 3-V and 5-V versions using carrier frequencies from 30 kHz to 56 kHz.
