Red Fiber-Coupled Laser For HeNe Replacement
Hamble, UK, May 7, 2002 -- Point Source has released the latest addition to its range of iFLEX-2000 fiber coupled lasers, a red laser diode system at 635nm. The iFLEX-2000 delivers 10mW in a pure Gaussian TEMoo beam, from a single-mode polarization-maintaining fiber.
The laser is highly stable and reliable, whilst operating under extremely low noise, making it an ideal replacement for equivalent power HeNe lasers. The system offers the added advantage that the output power may be altered without compromising beam quality and optical noise.
The laser is ideal for a variety of fluorescence based applications, such as DNA Microarray Probe Labelling, where the use of CyDye and AlexaFluor fluorescent dye kits require the use of a red laser source for fluorescent detection of a cDNA.
