Agilent Introduces All-Band High-Performance Tunable Laser
Palo Alto, CA, March 25, 2002 - Agilent Technologies Inc. has introduced the Agilent 81600B all-band high-performance tunable laser source (TLS), the flagship product in Agilent's portfolio of optical sources.
The 81600B offers 200 nm tuning range and covers S-, C- and L-bands completely with one laser. Agilent has increased the output power of low SSE port by 10 times over previous laser sources, allowing multi-station test of critical DWDM components. Also, full performance is specified even at the fast swept condition, which guarantees minimum test uncertainty at the highest test throughput.
The 81600B offers a wide tuning range, higher output power at low SSE and guaranteed performance at fast sweep mode. These features were designed to drastically reduce TLS-related cost by offering the most flexible test setup, a setup that is independent of the device under test, the transmission band and the manufacturing scale.
The Agilent 81600B is priced at $63,500. It is expected to be available for order on May 1 and shipped from July 2002. Further information is available at www.agilent.com/comms/comp-test
