Three-Five Systems Shows Microdisplay With 2.3M Pixels
Three-Five Systems, Inc. is giving the first public demonstrations of the company's recently announced Brillian 1920, a high-resolution, reflective, Liquid Crystal on Silicon Microdisplay. The demonstration will be held in booth #43 at the 19th Annual Flat Information Displays Conference in Monterey, California December 11-13, 2001.
With over 2.3 million pixels on a small 0.85 inch diagonal, the Brillian 1920 Microdisplay is Three-Five's highest resolution microdisplay currently available. Designed to meet the requirements of even the most visually demanding applications, this imager has a mere 9.5 micron pixel pitch, for smoother images. The Brillian 1920 is well suited for front projection applications, 1600 x 1200 and higher resolution monitor applications and can address both HDTV formats: 1280 x 720 and 1920 x 1080 in progressive scan.
Three-Five has developed a complete line of Brillian Microdisplays from SVGA, the resolution of the Internet, to WUXGA, for products that require high-definition or ultra-high resolution. A microdisplay is a small display, about the size of a thumbnail, that when combined with an optics system has the unique advantage of being able to make the apparent size of the image viewed larger than the size of the actual display. The Brillian family of microdisplays addresses the market's need for high information content displays in small, cost-effective packages.
In addition to demonstrating at the exhibition, Three-Five will be a co-sponsor of this event and Al Davis, Three-Five's Senior Director of Microdisplay Sales and Marketing, will be presenting Microdisplays in Projection Applications at the conference.
