Stuttgart, Germany--Marking 25 years this year, VISION 2012—to take place from November 6–8—will be held for the first time in Hall 1, hosting all exhibitors in one rather than two exhibition halls. With a gross exhibition area of over 226,042 sq. ft., Hall 1 also offers more exhibit space to meet this year's expected exhibitor/attendee growth.

In 2011, VISION broke its records in terms of exhibitors and attendee totals—an increase of 8.6% over 2010, with 7,055 visitors from 50 countries. An international pavilion made a contribution in this respect and will again make it easier for first-time exhibitors from abroad to take part in this year's show. Internationally operating organizations like the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA), the Automated Imaging Association (AIA), and the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA) will offer assistance as well.

This year's VISION will offer the Medical Discovery Tour, which debuted last year to target the medical technology industry. Other returning programs include the Integration Area, which provides system integrators and solution providers with their own platform; the Application Park, which showcases live demonstrations of quality controls in production practice and practical seminars during the VISION Academy; Industrial VISION Days, a series of talks on practical and market-related aspects organized by the VDMA Machine Vision Group; and the VISION Award, which will be presented for the 20th time for excellent achievements in the development of machine vision technologies or application solutions.
