Eisenach/Stedtfeld, Germany--As of November 14, 2011, Linus Zoller will assume operational and strategic management functions as the new managing director of infrared (IR) optical materials manufacturer Photonic Sense GmbH. Previous managing director Hendrikus Nijssen is leaving the company to pursue new professional opportunities. Together with the Photonic Sense team he will focus on breaking new strategic ground for the company and creating new business opportunities in the industrial applications area in addition to handling the established defense & security core business
Photonic Sense GmbH was established in 2003 and has been a company of Jenoptik’s Optical Systems division since 2006. The company has production facilities for germanium monocrystals up to a diameter of 500 mm and CNC processing machines for the production of optics made of germanium and silicon. The products are used in infrared spectral range applications including thermographic cameras, night vision systems, firefighting equipment and industrial monitoring cameras, and can be used as filters in analytical and measuring systems, as mirrors in IR optics and laser systems, or as windows for remote temperature measurement.
With a proven record of international management experience, with expertise in the military & defense applications business, and having held a variety of management positions in technology companies of the optics industry for more than 25 years, Linus Zoller brings comprehensive expert knowledge to the field of optical and opto-electronic technologies.
Zoller was most recently acting CEO for a renowned Swiss optics manufacturer. As a native of Switzerland, Zoller graduated from Zurich University in the field of natural sciences.
