Costa Mesa, CA--Optical components manufacturer and coatings provider Precision Optical has moved to a new facility to expand its manufacturing capacity. The new 42,000 square-foot facility is located at 320 Kalmus Drive in Costa Mesa, CA, 92626--approximately five miles from its previous location. The move more than doubles the size of Precision Optical’s office and manufacturing spaces.
The increased manufacturing space has enabled Precision Optical to acquire additional coating, metrology, and optics manufacturing equipment that increases its manufacturing capacity and expands its technical capabilities. Moreover, the facility itself was custom built, at the direction of Precision Optical, to optimize the manufacture, coating, and assembly of optics and optical components. The facility features epoxy flooring throughout, advanced climate control and air filtration technologies, and state-of-the-art airless degreasers. The facility is also energy efficient, due in large part to the installation of a roof-top solar array that allows the company to reduce its energy costs and to decrease its carbon footprint.
Precision Optical continues to expand its capabilities in the areas of infrared components and coatings, design services, and complete optical assemblies, offering high-precision prisms, corner cubes, polarizing and non-polarizing beamsplitters, and custom coatings. The company says it looks forward to passing along to its customers the benefits to quality, experience, and efficiency that will result from the move to its new, expanded, and state-of-the-art facility.
