Morganville, NJ--Optical fiber splicing and fiber processing solutions company Vytran hired Fernando Terceiro as its European sales manager. Terceiro brings more than 15 years combined experience in technical customer support, business development, and sales management--particularly in the optical fiber splicing business.

"Fernando brings a strong knowledge of the specialty fiber splicer market and significant experience developing that business in Europe. He has a proven track record of managing a sales team as well as a large number of distributors. He is also very focused on customer care, which fits well with Vytran’s goal of providing support from the sales process through the lifetime of our product at a customer’s facility."
Terceiro joins Vytran from marine data services and products company ChartCo, where he was channel manager. He has also been United Kingdom and Ireland sales director for Draka Communications. Prior to that, Terceiro spent nearly eight years as the United Kingdom, Europe, and Middle East sales manager for Fujikura Europe, where he developed the company’s optical fusion splicing business. He earned a B.A. in business studies from The Open University and holds several certifications in project management and sales.
Vytran, part of the NKT Photonics Group, supplies semi- and fully automated fiber fusion splicing and glass processing solutions for the telecom, fiber laser, sensing, medical, aerospace, and specialty fiber products markets. The company says its patented filament fusion technology and expertise in fiber cleaving, recoating, and proof testing make it a leader in reliable, precision equipment for high-volume optical fiber assembly and specialty fiber processing.
