Osram Opto Semiconductors names Frank Tillner as COO

Regensburg, Germany--Osram Opto Semiconductors has named Frank Tillner as chief operating officer (COO) at the company’s Regensburg headquarters, effective October 1.

Regensburg, Germany--Osram Opto Semiconductors has named Frank Tillner as chief operating officer (COO) at the company’s Regensburg headquarters, effective October 1. Succeeding Elke Eckstein, Tillner's new role involves taking over responsibility for the chip and LED production plants in Regensburg and Penang, Malaysia. He possesses 26 years of experience in semiconductor processes and production, and was last employed as senior vice president at Conergy AG.

Tillner's 26-year career in the semiconductor industry began with Siemens AG, where he worked as a process engineer for lithography in the Semiconductor Memories division. In the course of his career, Tillner has held various positions at the company, including six years in Essonnes, France. He has also worked with Texas Instruments GmbH, Infineon Technologies AG, and Qimonda AG. Past executive posts included COO for the Secure Mobile Solutions Group of Infineon AG; senior vice president, production & purchasing at Qimonda AG; and senior vice president, solar components & global large projects at Conergy AG.
