Washington, DC--Laser Focus World columnist Milton Chang has donated 1,000 copies of his new book, Toward Entrepreneurship: Establishing a Successful Technology Business, to the OSA Foundation. Proceeds from book sales will be donated to the OSA Foundation and matched 100% by the Optical Society (OSA). Books must be purchased through the OSA Foundation website to qualify.
Toward Entrepreneurship is based on Chang’s personal experiences as a scientist and entrepreneur in the optics and photonics industry. It covers all facets of starting and managing a company—from identifying an idea, starting and running a company, to selling the business.
Chang is the former president and CEO of Newport and New Focus, which he subsequently took public. As an angel investor, he served on the boards of Uniphase (now JDSU) and 11 other startups that either went public or were acquired. Today he writes a monthly business/management column for Laser Focus World, sits on the boards of several startup companies, and advises entrepreneurs.
Books may be purchased on the OSA Foundation website for $20 USD, but gifts of larger amounts are encouraged.
