Digital encoder from Scanlab uses a zero mass laser beam to sense a stationary scale

Nov. 15, 2014
This digital se-encoder can detect digital position and lowers the moments of inertia in drives in high-precision semiconductor processing or microstructuring.

This digital se-encoder can detect digital position and lowers the moments of inertia in drives in high-precision semiconductor processing or microstructuring. The new encoder technology, used in the company’s dynAXISse galvanometer scanner units and intelliSCANse 2D scan systems, uses a zeromass laser beam to sense a stationary scale. Digital encoder technology is also useful in processing electronics and displays.
