Emcore 1550 nm DFB laser module targets CATV applications

April 9, 2014
The 1752A 1550 nm dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM), distributed-feedback (DFB) laser module for cable television (CATV) applications complies with the Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) 3.1 standard.

The 1752A 1550 nm dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM), distributed-feedback (DFB) laser module for cable television (CATV) applications complies with the Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) 3.1 standard. It supports operational bandwidth up to 1.2 GHz and up to 50% more data throughput over the same spectrum to deliver up to 10 Gbit/s downstream and 1–2 Gbit/s upstream. Low adiabatic chirp maximizes signal quality in short and long lengths of fiber.
