Cobolt opens first US sales office

Solna, Sweden--Cobolt, which makes lasers for advanced analytical instrumentation equipment, has opened its first sales office in the US.

Solna, Sweden--Cobolt, which makes lasers for advanced analytical instrumentation equipment, has opened its first sales office in the US. Located in the San Francisco bay area, Cobolt Inc. will service all of the company's customers in North America, effective March 25, 2013.

The new US office follows a seven-year collaboration with Market Tech Inc. as the company's exclusive distributor in the US, and has been motivated by an increasing level of OEM business and sales of customized solutions on the US market. Phillip Amaya, who has held previous positions with Newport, SDL, Piccarro, and Arbor Photonics, will manage the new office.
