The FREEDOM spectrometer platform, designed for OEM use, suits integration into portable and handheld instruments. With a footprint of 50 × 45 mm, it provides optical resolution up to 1 nm and f/3 using in-house-produced holographic transmission gratings. Initial models cover 360 to 830 nm and support several commonly used CCD, BT-CCD, and NMOS detectors.

PRESS RELEASE

Ibsen Photonics introduces Compact, High Performance Spectrometer

For immediate release

Press Release, Farum, March 6th, 2012

Ibsen Photonics (www.ibsenphotonics.com), a global leader in fused silica transmission gratings and spectrometer modules, today announced the FREEDOM spectrometer platform for OEM integrators of analytical instruments.

The FREEDOM platform combines compact size and cost efficiency with high performance and flexibility in choice of detector systems. FREEDOM provides the same robust and thermally stable performance as Ibsen Photonics' ROCK spectrometer products. These benefits make FREEDOM especially well suited for integration into high performance portable and handheld instruments.

The footprint of the FREEDOM platform is only 50 mm by 45 mm. In terms of performance, the spectrometer provides a low stray light level and high efficiency due to the use of Ibsen Photonics' in-house produced holographic transmission gratings. Optical resolution can be as good as 1 nm and the f-number (f/3.1) is among the best for ultra-compact spectrometers on the market.

“We have developed FREEDOM as a response to the growing demand for spectrometer modules that does not compromise on performance and flexibility to obtain compactness and cost efficiency”, says Henrik Skov Andersen, CEO of Ibsen Photonics.

The first FREEDOM product to be available will cover 360 to 830 nm and support several commonly used CCD, BT-CCD, and NMOS detectors.
