PRESS RELEASE

Hamamatsu introduces new miniature Raman spectrometers

The C11713CA and C11714CA miniature spectrometers offer an excellent spectral resolution of 0.3 nm and high throughput for Raman spectroscopy and SERS (surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy). These mini-spectrometers contain a back-thinned CCD image sensor, a driver circuit, and optical elements including a quartz transmission grating. There are no moving parts inside the spectrometers, so stable measurements are obtained at all times.

The back-thinned CCD has low etaloning characteristics, which lowers the chance of fluctuations in sensitivity. The C11713CA’s CCD image sensor has 2048 pixels and sensitivity from 500 nm to 600 nm, while the C11714CA’s has 1024 pixels and 790-920 nm sensitivity.

These compact spectrometers have dimensions of 120 mm x 60 mm x 70 mm, making them easy to install into equipment. They feature a slit size of 10 µm x 1000 µm and possible integration tim! es between 10 ms and 10 seconds. Other features include a 16-bit A/D converter and free evaluation software package. Through the evaluation software, users can set measurement conditions, acquire and save data, and display graphs. DLL is also supplied as an accessory item to allow users to configure their own measurement software.
