The NuQ air-cooled, Q-switched pulsed fiber laser offers 50 W average power for laser marking applications. Featuring a Gaussian pulse shape, the laser delivers 1 mJ (10 kW peak power) pulses at a 50 kHz repetition rate. It emits zero bleed-through power when gated off to eliminate ghost lines between marks, even on sensitive materials.

PRESS RELEASE

Nufern Introduces a 50W NuQ™ Pulsed Fiber Laser for Industrial Marking and Related Applications

MUNICH, GERMANY
May 17, 2011

Nufern, a leading manufacturer of fibers, fiber optic gyroscope coils, fiber lasers and amplifiers will introduce a new high power 50W NuQ™ industrial pulsed fiber marking laser at Laser Munich 2011.

This latest addition to the NuQ series is a 50W average power, air-cooled Q-switched fiber laser based on the same highly successful industry standard platform as the 20W and 30W pulsed fiber lasers. It features the same fast turn-on time to maximize production throughput and delivers high peak power from an industry standard OEM footprint ensuring compatibility across all the available power levels from 20W to 50W. Nufern believes the latest high power NuQ laser “will offer new and existing pulsed fiber laser customers a complete OEM product line spanning multiple power levels to better meet their application requirements” says Bryce Samson, VP of Business Development.

Featuring a Gaussian pulse shape and excellent beam quality, the 50W NuQ laser delivers 1 mJ (10 kW peak power) pulses at 50kHz repetition rate corresponding to more marking power per output Watt than other lasers in its class. The laser offers a widely adjustable operating range of output power and pulse repetition rate, making it the ideal laser for a variety of marking, etching, engraving, and trimming applications. It emits zero bleed-through power when gated off to eliminate ghost lines between marks, even on sensitive materials.

The rugged, air cooled, monolithic architecture is pumped by highly reliable single emitter diode technology for extremely long life expectancy with no maintenance requirements. The laser comes complete with a 3m armored fiber delivery cable and precision optical isolator as standard. It is powered by a simple 24V universal power supply through an industry standard 25-pin interface, for simple drop-in replacement of existing systems.
