The ScanMatePro pulsed dye laser delivers a linewidth of less than 0.08 cm-1 across the 320- to 860-nm tuning range of the dye. It is also available with auto­mated etalon scanning for hands-free scanning at 0.03 cm-1. Total amplified spontaneous emission is less than 0.5% of total output intensity. An optional internal ­optogalvanic unit can provide absolute wavelength ­accuracy of 5 pm or better.

A 405-nm blue-violet laser-diode module is designed as a complete system for OEMs. The modules produce either an elliptical output beam of 4 × 1.5 mm with power of 4 mW, or a 2-mm circular beam with power of 0.9 mW. The integrated InGaAs detectors are photo-diode arrays with 512 or 1024 elements and are TEC cooled. Other features include 25 × 500 µm pixels, a 2.5-MHz digitizer that acquires NIR spectra in 1 ms, and SpectraWiz software.

Varifocal lens

The 30V1634P is a 1.6- to 3.4-mm varifocal lens. Rotating the lens ring, for example, from 167° to 43° on a 1/4-in. CCD and from 184° to 58° on a 1/3-in. CCD adjusts the field of view. The camera’s auto-iris capability adjusts for high light overload. Current OEM usage includes cameras mounted on the inside of highway traffic tunnels. Indoor applications include retail surveillance.

The LTC3458 is a 1.4 A, 7.5 V, 1.5 MHz synchronous step-up DC/DC converter with inrush current limiting and output disconnect. A line of 19-in. rack-mountable chillers for laser systems have cooling capacities from 800 W to 2.5 kW and flow rates from 2.2 to 6 gpm. Temperature stabilities are better then ±0.1°C. Safety interlocks and a deionized water package are available. Heat exchangers have cooling capacities from 250 W to 40 kW with flow rate from 1 liter/min to 10 gallons/min.

Night-vision system

The AstroScope 9350 night-vision system includes an image intensifier that can image scenes at below 10-4 lux. The intensifier comes in an interchangeable module and has a custom relay optic that eliminates ­vignetting. The MountingPad microchannel plates resist warping and cracking. They provide a rigid area to clamp the plate without damaging any pores and allow for efficient outgassing by creating a small space between the active channels and the mounting hardware. It also allows uniform expansion so the plates stay very flat.

A line of 14-bit digitizers includes ­Finite Impulse Response Filter FPGA technology. They provide numerical filtering of digitized waveform data for more-complex filtering methods. Fiber-array-package laser diodes are available at 940 and 980 nm and produce 40 W of CW power though an 800-µm fiber bundle with a numerical aperture of less than 0.11. The conduction-cooled lasers produce a wall-plug efficiency of better than 50%. They are designed for medical applications such as dermatology and surgery, and for pumping erbium- and ytterbium-doped fiber lasers.
