A compact housing designed for deformable mirrors with less than 100 actuators measures 18.6 mm and weighs 180 g. It is intended to allow users to reduce system size with lighter and more compact deformable mirrors in astronomy, ophthalmology, microscopy, wireless optical communications, and laser applications.
