Excelitas Technologies acquires UV illumination company Lumen Dynamics

Waltham, MA--Excelitas Technologies has acquired Lumen Dynamics, a privately held manufacturer of lamp and LED-based ultraviolet curing and fluorescence illumination systems.

Waltham, MA--Optoelectronics solutions company Excelitas Technologies has acquired Lumen Dynamics (Mississauga, ON, Canada), a privately held manufacturer of lamp and LED-based ultraviolet (UV) curing and fluorescence illumination systems. The terms of the deal are not being disclosed.

"Lumen Dynamics' technology and innovative product portfolio complement Excelitas' existing suite of specialty lighting products," said David Nislick, CEO of Excelitas Technologies. "With the addition of Lumen Dynamics' expertise in UV curing, Excelitas is now poised to expand our penetration of the high growth UV curing markets and address an even wider range of demanding medical and industrial applications."

Founded in 1984, Lumen Dynamics is focused on advancing UV system technology while continuously improving its contribution towards environmental sustainability including its OmniCure and X-Cite brands.

Lumen Dynamics marks the fourth acquisition by Excelitas since its formation in late 2010. In October 2013, Excelitas completed the acquisition of Qioptiq, further diversifying the range of optoelectronic products to OEMs and increasing the Company’s global footprint. In 2012, Excelitas acquired high-voltage power supplier Kaiser Systems and lamp-manufacturer Carsan Engineering.

Excelitas says it is focused on delivering customized solutions to meet the lighting, detection, and other high-performance technology needs of OEM customers from medical lighting to analytical instrumentation, clinical diagnostics, industrial, safety and security, and aerospace and defense applications. Excelitas Technologies has approximately 5,000 employees in North America, Europe, and Asia.
