SEMI International Board names Neugold chairman, elects Miller and Tong

San Jose, CA--SEMI, the global industry association serving the manufacturing supply chains for the microelectronic, display, and photovoltaic industries, appointed Douglas A. Neugold, chairman, CEO and president, ATMI, chairman of its International Board of Directors. David B. Miller, president, DuPont Electronics & Communications, and Ho-Ming Tong, chief R&D officer and general manager, ASE Group, were also elected to the International Board. Their tenures became effective at the annual SEMI membership meeting held during the SEMICON West 2011 and Intersolar North America expositions.

Neugold succeeds Rick Wallace, president and CEO of KLA-Tencor Corporation, who served as SEMI chairman for the past year. "On behalf of SEMI and its members, I am pleased to welcome Dave Miller and Ho-Ming Tong to the SEMI International Board of Directors," said Stanley T. Myers, president and CEO of SEMI. "Both have made significant contributions to SEMI regional activities and advisory groups. We are also fortunate to confirm Doug Neugold and André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé as the new chair and vice-chair."

SEMI’s 17 voting directors, four non-voting ex-officio members, and ten emeritus directors, represent companies from Europe, China, Japan, Korea, North America, and Taiwan, reflecting the global scope of the association’s activities. The SEMI charter stipulates that individuals may be elected by the general membership as voting members of the board for a total of four (4) two-year terms, and non-voting ex-officio members for a total of three (3) one-year terms.
