Salem, NH-- Laser Light Engines (LLE), a developer and manufacturer of ultra-high brightness, laser-driven light sources, has named digital cinema expert Bob Lambert to its Board of Directors.

Lambert served as a senior executive of The Walt Disney Company for 25 years. As Senior Vice President, Worldwide Technology Strategy and Development, he was challenged with looking "down the road and around the corner" to help guide one of the world's most innovative and forward-thinking companies to successfully engage in new business strategies. Lambert and his team pioneered award-winning digital landscape transitions and strategies in film, television, e-commerce, social media, and emerging consumer media, often partnering with competitors and parallel industries to create new sea-change opportunities. His group drove innovation in content production and distribution, including initiating the company's long term successful collaboration with Pixar and the development of a completely new digital film production process which garnered an Academy Award for Scientific and Technical Achievement.

"Bob Lambert is a seasoned industry veteran and one of the most knowledgeable experts in 3D, digital cinema, technology and the overall entertainment industry—all of which will play an integral role in our growing company's future success," said Doug Darrow, CEO, Laser Light Engines. "Bob will be instrumental in helping LLE continue zeroing in on the entertainment industry market opportunities available through our market leading ultra-high brightness laser light source."

Lambert was a founder and served as chairman of DCI, LLC the six-studio digital cinema consortium that has successfully pioneered the transition of more than 10,000 theatres from film to digital worldwide. In his role as a digital cinema industry leader, he served as a co-author of "Understanding Digital Cinema," a comprehensive resource on all aspects of finishing, distributing and displaying film digitally.

"Laser Light Engines has created a technology breakthrough for digital cinema and the entertainment industry," said Bob Lambert. "I'm looking forward to help the company deliver an environmentally friendly illumination innovation that will improve the quality of movie presentation and drive continued differentiation of the theatrical experience."

Lambert is Chairman Emeritus of the board of directors of University of Southern California's Entertainment Technology Center, the 17-company consortium dedicated to entertainment technology futures, and has served as both acting chairman and interim CEO of USC/ETC.
