Piezosystem Jena's lens positioners have sub-nanometer resolution

May 4, 2010
The nanoMIPOS 400 lens positioner is for use with closed-loop electronics.

The nanoMIPOS 400 lens positioner is for use with closed-loop electronics and the nanoMIPOS 400 CAP is used in closed-loop systems. It has travel in open-loop operation of up to 400 µm and 329 µm in closed-loop operation. Resolution is in the sub-nanometer range and only limited by the noise of the electronics used.

PRESS RELEASE

Lens positioning system - nano MIPOS 400

piezosystem jena, internationally recognized manufacturer of micro and nano positioning devices, offers the nanoMIPOS 400 lens positioner in its product range.

Two different versions of the lens positioner are available. The nanoMIPOS 400 is for use with closed-loop electronics and the nanoMIPOS 400 CAP was developed for use in closed-loop systems.

The nano MIPOS offers travel in open-loop operation of up to 400 µm and in closed-loop operation travel of
320 µm can be reached. The resolution of the positioner is in the sub-nanometer range and is only limited by the noise of the electronics used.

The singular design of the actuator, based on the bidirectional nanoX principle, gives the nanoMIPOS 400 excellent guidance properties as well as an extremely high resonant frequency. A high repeatability can be guaranteed with the use of closed-loop electronics.

Furthermore, the nanoMIPOS 400 can be used with standard microscopes as well as inversed microscopy. The stage can be loaded with up to 1 kg of mass with lenses, and is adaptable to almost all lens threads.

When combined with the electronics offered by piezosystem jena, the system meets the highest requirements in stability, linearity, and accuracy.
