02/06/2009

February 6, 2009--Remote Light (Andover, MA), an optics technology company, appointed management consulting and solutions provider System Change (also in Andover) to license its extensive portfolio of ultraviolet (UV) light, optics, and fiber-optic patents for clean drinking water and air applications.

Remote Light has developed and patented a global portfolio of UV lighting technologies for drinking water, wastewater, other fluids, air, medical, consumer appliance, and surface applications. Remote Light owns or controls more than 120 U.S. and international granted patents, applications, and exclusive patent licenses combining optics with fiber optics and UV light for a broad range of purification and disinfection applications.

System Change will help establish Remote Light as a technology licensing company that offers custom design, validation, and prototyping services. "Remote Light has developed proprietary solutions that support innovative applications of UV light, optics and fiber optics, particularly for addressing the world-wide challenges of clean drinking water and safe air," said Isaac Horton, Remote Light's chairman and CEO. "Remote Light's UV fluid and air treatment solutions are many times faster, more effective, and more energy efficient than conventional systems at the same initial costs. Our underlying patents and know-how will enable licensees to have a fast start in new UV-based product development, together with reduced development costs."

System Change is focused on optimizing operations and leveraging assets to create additional revenue streams for client companies. With a successful track record that includes corporate turnarounds, financing, and intellectual property licensing, System Change will facilitate transactions with companies who can create products using the core solutions developed by Remote Light.
