New Astrella HE Femtosecond Amplifier: Record Pulse Energy

July 30, 2020

Astrella HE

Highest pulse energy, one-box, titanium:sapphire amplifier for demanding femtosecond scientific applications.

Recently introduced at Photonics West (San Francisco 2020), Astrella HE is the most powerful member of the Astrella family of femtosecond amplifiers. Astrella HE is a high-energy, user-friendly kHz amplifier that enables applications such as laser plasma acceleration and EUV generation in a single compact platform. Developed from the ground up as part of the Industrial Revolution in Ultrafast Science, Astrella HE also offers unmatched reliability and stability for experiments needing long data acquisition times.

With a choice of 35 fs or 100 fs pulse duration and a high quality (M2 ≤ 1.25), the 9 mJ pulse energy can be focused to higher intensity than any other ultrafast amplifier. This performance is also ideal for pumping multiple tunable optical parametric amplifiers (OPAs) for pump-probe spectroscopy targeting biology, materials science and microelectronics

Key performances

  • >9 mJ at 1 kHz
  • >10 W at 5 kHz
  • Pulse width option of < 35 fs or 100 fs
  • HALT-designed and HASS-verified to ensure quality and reliability
